Special Visitors

My mom and dad came to get their howdy on with us here in Texas! A month before they knew they were coming they sent my kids a calendar to count down the days to their arrival. Needless to say, my little kiddos were excited when the day finally came! They had all sorts of things on their To-Do List for when Grandma and Grandad got here: play legos, play Star Wars, go on walks. I'm so guilty of using the line, "When Grandma comes, you can ask her" so they did. They asked her for Dora cereal, a trip to Chuck-E-Cheese, M&Ms, icecream, and anything else this mean mommy usually says no to.
My kids love the attention they get from my parents. They love that they play with them. Kathryn could play horses and princesses for hours and my mom just about did that with them. Josh loved playing swords and light sabers with my dad. Though I can be a pretty hardcore play fighter with Josh, somehow everything boy is always more fun with a guy, even just chilling.
My mom, Kathryn, and I got to escape for some girl time: a morning of pedicures. I thought Kathryn might be a bit too young for the whole pedicure thing because I thought it would take too long and she'd get bored with it. Boy, was I wrong! She loved it and it was a lot of fun making it a triple generation outing.
Thank you for the memories! We can't wait for more next month!!
